About us

One country, planned in depth

Guyana Journey plans and books tailor-made trips to Guyana, and only Guyana. That focus lets us go deep on what makes a trip here work: the routes, the seasons, the lodges and the people who make each place special.

Why Guyana

Guyana holds some of the most intact rainforest and savannah in South America, one of the world’s great waterfalls and a remarkable concentration of wildlife, yet it remains one of the continent’s least visited countries. It is English-speaking, its interior lodges are small and often community-run, and a well-planned week can feel like an expedition without the hardship.

The challenge is that very little here is packaged. Flights run on small aircraft with limited seats, transfers depend on rivers and dirt roads, and the best lodges have a handful of rooms. Travelers who try to assemble a multi-region trip themselves often spend weeks on emails and still end up with gaps.

What we do about it

We design routes that fit together: the right places in the right order, at the right time of year, with enough nights in each to enjoy them. For each trip, we confirm the route, dates and price with a licensed local operator who will deliver it, and put everything in one written proposal with a single total price.

Once you accept, we handle your booking and stay your contact before and during your trip, working with you and the operator on the ground when plans need to change.

How we plan

Four principles behind every route

01

Time over tick-boxes

Two nights in the right place beats one night in two places. Wildlife, guides and lodges all reward time.

02

Realistic logistics

We plan around flight days, water levels and road conditions, and build buffers where Guyana needs them.

03

Local people first

Community-run lodges, local guides and Guyanese businesses deliver the trip, and your proposal names them.

04

Everything in writing

One proposal with the route, price, inclusions, exclusions, payment and cancellation terms before anything is booked.

Who delivers your trip

Guyana Journey plans your trip and is your booking contact. The trip itself is delivered by an independent, licensed Guyanese operator, with the lodges, airlines, guides and communities it works with. Your proposal names the operator, so it is always clear who provides what and who to contact.

Our trust and responsibilities page explains how bookings, payments and responsibilities work, and our planning guides share what we know about travelling in Guyana.
