Every trip we plan is priced for your dates, group and route, and set out in a written proposal with one total price. Here is what shapes that price and what it includes.
Pricing
How our pricing works
- Planning is free. So is your first proposal and any revisions.
- One total price. No separate booking or service charges.
- Inclusions and exclusions listed. You see exactly what is covered.
- Prepayment, then balance. A prepayment to Guyana Journey secures your booking; you pay the balance directly to the operator in Guyana. If you cancel, your prepayment is refunded.
As a broad guide, guided multi-day trips into Guyana’s interior generally cost several hundred US dollars per person per day once flights, full-board lodges, guiding and transfers are included. The trip cost guide explains why.

What drives the price
The same route can cost very different amounts depending on these choices.
Group size
Charters, private vehicles and boats are priced per trip, so the cost per person falls as the group grows.
How you move between regions
Scheduled flights are cheaper per seat than charters; road transfers trade money for time.
Number of bases
Fewer moves mean fewer transfers, flights and half-days lost.
Season and dates
Peak periods such as Easter and the dry-season holidays fill first.
Guiding
Lodge guides are usually included; private or specialist guides cost extra.
Room choice
Some lodges have a few larger or better-positioned rooms at a premium.
Reference prices
We only publish prices we can source and date. They are reference points, not quotes, and your proposal confirms the current price.

Pricing questions
Do you charge for planning?
No. Planning and proposals are free. You pay only when you decide to book, and the proposal shows exactly what the total price covers.
Why don’t you publish package prices?
Every trip is built for specific dates, group sizes and lodges, and interior prices change by season. Publishing fixed package prices would mean either padding them or quoting figures that are out of date. We publish sourced reference prices instead and quote your trip exactly.
Which currency do you quote in?
US dollars, unless we agree another currency with you. Some local extras, such as drinks and tips, are paid locally in Guyana dollars or US dollars.
Is a price in a proposal guaranteed?
For the validity period stated in the proposal, subject to availability when you accept. Once you accept and pay the prepayment, the price is fixed except for changes you request.
