Savannah meets forest near Surama
A Kaieteur flight is the simplest way to see Guyana’s most famous sight: about an hour each way by light aircraft from Georgetown and roughly two hours at the falls. The choice is between a shared scheduled tour at weekends and a charter on the day you want.
Guyana’s rainforest stays are simple, comfortable lodges deep in intact forest, built around guided walks, river trips and dawn on the canopy walkway.
Guyana’s best wildlife viewing is on the Rupununi rivers and savannahs, where giant otters, giant anteaters and black caiman are seen regularly with good guides.

Guyana’s Rupununi rivers offer catch-and-release fishing for arapaima, one of the world’s largest freshwater fish, mainly around Rewa with community guides.
