Who does what, in plain terms
Before you trust anyone with a trip, you should know exactly what they do, who else is involved and where your money goes. Here is how it works with us.
Before you trust anyone with a trip, you should know exactly what they do, who else is involved and where your money goes. Here is how it works with us.

Guyana Journey plans trips to Guyana and is your booking contact. We design your route, confirm it with the licensed local operator who will deliver it, prepare your written proposal, handle your booking once you accept, and stay your contact before and during your trip.
Guyana Journey is not the tour operator. Your trip is run by an independent, licensed Guyanese operator, together with the lodges, airlines, guides and transport it works with. We do not own or operate aircraft, lodges, vehicles or boats.
Nothing is booked until you accept the proposal and pay the prepayment. If something in the proposal is unclear, ask us before you accept.
For each trip, we select a licensed local operator suited to the experience you want, the places you will visit and your group. Before a proposal goes to you, we confirm the route, dates and price directly with that operator. Before we confirm a booking, we check that the operator holds the licence the Guyana Tourism Authority requires for tour operators. If an operator cannot meet these checks, we do not book them.
We do not publish ratings or “verified” badges. We would rather tell you plainly what a place is like, including its limitations, in your proposal.
Travel in Guyana’s interior involves remote places, small aircraft, rivers and wildlife, and no trip is free of risk. We plan buffers around flights, avoid night-time road and river travel, and share practical safety guidance. Travel insurance with medical evacuation cover is a condition of travel. Read our safety guide for details.
Wildlife sightings are never guaranteed. We plan time and season to give you real chances, and we say so honestly.
We only publish feedback from real travelers, with their permission, and we do not edit it to change its meaning. We do not use paid, invented or incentivised reviews.
We collect only what we need to plan your trip, share it with providers only when needed to book your services, and never sell it. The privacy notice explains how we handle personal data.
Our terms and cancellation policy explain the rules that apply to planning and bookings. The specific terms for your trip are confirmed in your proposal.
