Waterfalls without the crowds
Kaieteur drops about 226 metres into a forested gorge, and most days only a planeload or two of visitors see it.

We design trips to Guyana’s interior around what you want to see: realistic routes, the right lodges and local guides, and a clear written proposal before you commit to anything.
Kaieteur Falls from the air
Guyana is English-speaking, lightly visited and mostly wilderness. A week here can take in one of the world’s great waterfalls, deep rainforest and a savannah full of wildlife.

Kaieteur drops about 226 metres into a forested gorge, and most days only a planeload or two of visitors see it.

The Iwokrama Forest is protected, intact and reachable by road, with lodges on the river and a walkway through the canopy.

Giant otters, giant anteaters and black caiman on the Rupununi rivers and savannah, watched with local guides.
Interior trips combine small aircraft, river boats, long dirt roads and lodges with a handful of rooms. Each piece depends on the one before it. We design a route that fits, confirm it with the local operator who will run it, and give you one clear plan.
Suggested routes that show how Guyana’s regions fit together, with timings and trade-offs. Every route is adapted to your dates, and schedules and availability are confirmed in your proposal.

Your booking is secured only when you accept the proposal and pay the prepayment.
We plan tailor-made trips to Guyana and handle your booking. You tell us what you want to see and how you like to travel; we suggest a realistic route, confirm it with the licensed local operator who will deliver it, and send a written proposal with one total price. We stay your contact before and during your trip.
Licensed local operators in Guyana deliver the trips, with the lodges, airlines and guides they work with. Your proposal names the operator delivering your trip, so you always know who is responsible for what.
Interior travel relies on small aircraft, remote full-board lodges and private guiding, so guided multi-day trips typically cost several hundred US dollars per person per day. Our trip cost guide explains the drivers, and your proposal gives an exact total.
Planning and proposals are free. To secure a booking you pay a prepayment to Guyana Journey, and you pay the remaining balance directly to the local operator in Guyana. Your proposal states both amounts. If you cancel, your prepayment is refunded.
Share your dates, interests and the pace you enjoy. We reply with suggestions and, when you are ready, a written proposal with the route, prices, inclusions and who provides each part of the trip.
